OUR HISTORY
Johnny Weatherspon’s cutting career came with humble beginnings. At the young age of 11 years old, Johnny started cutting his own hair. Shortly after, he was cutting hair for his neighbors and a lot of the kids in his neighborhood. When he was a teenager, he was already cutting hair full time at people’s homes, in dorm rooms at UA and Stillman, and would even receive people in his own home. With a clear talent and passion for barbering, Johnny became successful at a very young age. After a 4 year apprenticeship at Wells Barbershop, he opened the doors to his very own Barbershop in 1992 on 22nd Avenue. In only 23 years, Style Connection was blessed with the opportunity to move into the heart of downtown Tuscaloosa and have been a pillar in the community ever since.
